Jun. 12th, 2008
by Iffat Jahan It’s back to the good olden days. The fashionable and most stylish era of 60s and 70s is back in vogue and that too with a bang. by Iffat Jahan For a sports crazy nation, nothing seems to be as exciting as cheering, applauding and whistling for our home team. The undaunted spirit of a game can undoubtedly create an atmosphere of bonhomie even between the two biggest rivals and could certainly end the cold war. Even on the silver screen, sports seem to be flavour of the season with Chak De still ruling hearts. Then why should our own small screen be left behind? The idiot box is testing the waters with a new soap dedicated exclusively to the favourite sport of India – cricket. It’s called ‘Jersey No 10’ on SAB. For the first time in the history of Indian television, there is a soap solely based on the spicy stories and internal politics of a much talked about game - cricket. [printable view] [more...] |
