Mar. 31st, 2009
by Staff Reporter

JABALPUR: IN A spine-chilling incident, a woman was brutally murdered by her husband following domestic violence at Khinna mohalla under Lordgunj Police Station on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. According to police, Pooja Patel (28) was strangulated to death by her husband, Ramlal Patel (35).

SHO of Lordgunj Police Station Hariom Sharma informed that Pooja stayed most of the time in her parents house. On Sunday, Pooja returned to her home after one week stay at her relative’s place. Ramlal, the accused, after strangulating Pooja with a rope kept the body in a sack and threw it in the farm of Subhash Patel. On Sunday morning, Pooja’s parents came to visit her daughter’s house, but they could not find their daughter and son-in-law. Later, the neighbours told Pooja’s parents that the couple had a scuffle at night. Failing to get any satisfactory information, Pooja’s parents contacted Lordgunj police and informed about the incident. On being informed, Lordgunj police team reached the spot and started investigations. After thorough investigations, the police found Pooja’s body in Subhash Patel’s farm. Immediately, the police apprehended Ramlal for inquiry. Ramlal confessed to his crime that he had killed his wife, informed SHO Sharma. Ramlal was taken into police custody on Sunday. After panchnama, the body was sent to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. Police have registered a case against Ramlal Patel under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC.
