Hindu Janjagruti Samiti holds demo against ‘Sethu Samudram’ project
Apr. 15th, 2007
by Staff Reporter

Demonstrations under the banner of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti were organised to protest the proposed ‘Sethu Samudram’ project of Government of India. The organisations which participated in the demonstrations also condemned killings of Hindus in Kashmir.

Dilip Pagnis gave information about the project and appealed the Hindu organisations and people to oppose the move. He gave reference from Ramayan period and stated that the setu was built by Shri Ramchandra 17.25 lakh years back. The view has been supported by NASA. However, Government of India has granted permission to remove it and to add to the humiliation of the Hindus, the machine deployed to remove it has been named ‘Hanuman Yantra’. Removing Ramsetu is also unscientific as it saved Kerala coast from the Tsunami, that hit the Indian coast recently, Dr S Murthy said. He said that removing the setu will be an invitation to the Tsunami trouble. Dr Murthy is Editor of magazine ‘Science of Tsunami hazards’. Renowned scientist Dr Shiv Subramaniam has also opposed the ‘Setusamudram’ project. The demonstrators condemned the killing of a Hindu family members in Rajouri district and called it a fall out of negligent attitude of Congress-led government against Hindus in Kashmir. Prominent among those who participated in the demonstrations include Aryakumar Dwivedi of Gayatri Shaktipeeth, Atul Deshmukh of Hind Swaraj Abhiyan, Dr Sudhir Bodhankar of Dnyaneshwar-Tukaram Vishva Pratishthan, Suresh Uplanchiwar of Shree Sampraday, etc. RAJE MUDHOJI BHONSALE: Meanwhile, through a press note Raje Mudhoji Bhosale, founder of Senior Bhonsala Tiger Force has condemned the move to demolish Ramsetu. He too has called it an attempt to attack feelings of entire Hindu community. In a separate press note issued here he has stated that he is in contact with many prominent royal families of the country.
